“And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, ‘Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!’ So God granted him what he requested.”
1 Chronicles 4:10 NKJV

A neighborhood planned before the first wall goes up

Mokunda is a surveyed parcel in Limbe II, laid out so that streets, walking routes and light are decided first. Everything below is a plan for what the neighborhood can become.

The community vision

Wide streets Proposed

The plan draws two driveways, each 8.24 m wide, running west to east through the plots.

Sidewalks for walking Proposed

Planned pedestrian routes so families can walk to neighbors, not only drive.

Solar street lights Proposed

A proposal for lighting that does not depend on the grid.

A secure neighborhood concept Proposed

Planned access arrangements and shared standards, to be agreed with plot owners.

Living in the shadow of West and Central Africa's highest peak

Mount Cameroon, known locally as Fako, rises above 4,000 m and shapes the skyline of the whole region.

Thirty-one plots, two ways to lay them out

Standard plots are 500 m². In the original layout every plot is exactly 500 m². In the alternative layout the leftover land at the ends of each row is merged into the first and last plot, so eight plots are larger.
